I get asked a lot of similar questions so here are the most asked ones so I don’t have to repeat myself quite as often ^_^
- How do you do your hair?
- Can you make a tutorial on *BLANK*?
- Where do you buy your craft/nail/deco supplies and clothes?
- Why does anyone read this crap? You’re ugly/your hair sucks etc…
- Can you do a tutorial on making that pink $10 pillowcase dress?
- I want to learn about Hime Gyaru…
- I want to learn about false nails and nail art…
- Do you accept sponsored content?
- Are you Hime Gyaru? Are you Lolita?
- Can you make me a set of nails/deco something/draw me an avatar/whatever for *insert special reason here* I can’t pay you for your time or materials but could you do it anyway for free?
How do you do your hair?
Currently I have blonde to pink to ginger gradient because I like it :)
How do you do it?
- Here’s a video on how I dye it. I touch it up once every few weeks and bleach once a month.
What brand of dye do you use? -Fudge Paint Box. I mix the pinks to my own shade. There’s a review of them here:
Do you get it done at a salon? -No. I cut and colour my own hair due to financial constraints.
Previously my hair has a gradient from blonde to black at the tips. This is because I have had black, red, orange and blonde hair at one point or another. When I went blonde it was impossible to remove the black, I liked the gradient effect so I kept it. Here is a post on my hair history.
For the record: I didn’t do a gradient style or pink because it was a trend, I just liked the look and felt it suited my personality. Since the initial bleaching I now maintain the gradient using various dyes. I like it and I intend to keep it until I feel like trying another style. You are welcome to have an opinion about my hair (and many people have clearly voiced them!) but please don’t think that leaving me negative comments will bully me into changing my hair, that is just silly -_-’
Can you make a tutorial on *BLANK*?
I am happy to take suggestions for tutorials to make! I love to help with stuff like this!
Please be aware that I only accept request for things that I would actually be interested in the finished product of… eg. I don’t own a dog so I probably won’t do a tutorial on making cute dog clothes.
Please also be aware that I have a life outside of this blog and I get a lot of requests to do tutorials, if your tutorial is time sensitive (eg. Can you show me how to make a head piece to match my dress for prom in 2 days) I probably won’t have time to do it.
Tutorials take a decent amount of time to make and I’m not a machine so just keep it mind when you make a request.
Where do you buy your craft/nail/deco supplies and clothes?
Craft supplies-
Generally at local junk/$2 stores, sometimes actual craft stores. I also still have a stash that I bought in Japan.
Nail bases-
Ebay or in bulk from China. I don’t use a particular seller I just search “false nails” and see what looks good at the time. People restock and run out of them all the time so just have a look.
Deco Supplies-
The Sticker Monster is awesome. Also Full Moon Deco (mention I sent you and she will sometimes include something extra) is great. I also buy things locally when I find them and sometimes bulk order things on ebay.
Clothing-
I buy at local shops, thrift stores, online and make a lot of my things.
Why does anyone read this crap? You’re ugly/your hair sucks etc…
Your guess is as good as mine as to why anyone reads what I write :)
While I’m happy to accept constructive criticism and you are more than welcome to have that opinion please remember that the little “X” in the corner of your browser is there for a reason, if you don’t like my site or find it in some way offensive then perhaps you should use it :)
Can you do a tutorial on making that pink $10 pillowcase dress?
The short answer is not at this point. I might do one eventually but sewing tutorials and patterns are really difficult to make in a way that people of different sizes can actually wear them.
I will try to do more sewing tutorials but not everyone has a sewing machine so I can’t please everyone. About this dress specifically, there is a very rough tutorial in that post but as I already have a dress like this… I don’t know if I would get around to making another one any time soon. It is on my “to do” list for eventually though.
I want to learn about Hime Gyaru…
I am in no way an expert on Hime Gyaru fashion. Due to receiving a lot of questions on the subject I did a quick FAQ on the subject here. Hopefully that will give you a place to start :)
I want to learn about false nails and nail art…
I am in no way an expert on nail art but I do have a passion for it. Due to receiving a lot of questions on the subject I did an FAQ here. Hopefully that will give you a place to start :)
Do you accept sponsored content?
Yes, on a discretionary basis to counter the number of hours I spend working on the site. I try to keep everything interesting and on topic. Please see here for the full version For more information about why I take sponsorships on this blog, please refer to this page.
Are you Hime Gyaru? Are you Lolita?
No. I no longer wear Lolita fashion. I do not consider myself to be 100% Hime Gyaru either. I like a lot of styles (including 1950′s, 1960′s, Rococo and many others) and I take bits and pieces from each to create a look that is my own. I enjoy Hime Gyaru but I also enjoy having the freedom to wear what I feel like when I feel like it. I do not wear Hime 24/7
Can you make me a set of nails/deco something/draw me an avatar/whatever for *insert special reason here* I can’t pay you for your time or materials but could you do it anyway for free?
No. I am more than happy to take commissions but due to my current work load and because it would probably send me broke if I worked for free so… I don’t work for free!
