Beauty reviews of the week:
I’m still catching up after all of the Blogopolis fun on the weekend so just a short video post today. Here’s a very simple nail art tutorial for a pink and silver lacy design. Hope you guys enjoy it!
I’m planning time tonight to re-upholster my couch finally so you can look forward to that post, I still can’t decide between pinstripes or leopard print, what do you think?
Also I’ve been thinking of a lot of ways to improve the site for you guys recently and get more of the reader requests I’ve got piled up actually done. I would love your input on it all so if you have a chance please take a second to answer a quick poll below on what you would like to see more/less of ^_^
Thanks so much or all of your help!
So remember that leopard print nail art I was talking about when I reviewed Molten Metalics from Face of Australia? I actually got around to doing it! No, it’s not particularly original and I’ve done the same pattern a bajillion times but it’s still hard to not look at in the sunlight!
I’ve previously done a video tutorial on leopard print but some people have trouble following videos so here’s a nice easy quick photo tutorial of the steps.
What you need:
I’ve have a bit of a nautical obsession lately :) These were my nails for the week before I cut them. Apologies for the poor quality of this video, I’m still working out the best settings and lighting for shooting theses that doesn’t end with a gigantic file size.
What are your favorite patterns at the moment?
This tutorial has been waiting for a very long time XD I first did this design when we moved here to Melbourne to celebrate going to a chocolate party and it was a big hit then so I’ve done it several times since! As you can see I went a little crazy with the nail art tutorials while I had long natural nails hahaha.
Hope that was helpful and let me know if any of you try it :D
Houndstooth is one of my favorite patterns so making nail art in it is a fairly logical next step XD The pattern itself is very basic if not a little time consuming to make. Your finish will really only depend on how steady your hand is and how thin your brush is, in this tutorial my brush is looking a bit ratty so the result is a little wobbly around the edges. That said when you’re more than 10cm away you really can’t tell haha!
Again no sound, sorry! Vimeo has been really unreliable lately so I’m gradually moving completely over to Youtube. Feel free to go look at my channel there now :D
Hope you enjoyed and let me know if you give it a try!
