Needle Felting Lottie’s Pet Bed

Miss Lottie’s fanclub totally spoils her rotten. Kim, who is her #1 fan bought Lottie an adorable strawberry house!

She absolutely loved it so I decided to customise it to match the lovely card Kim painted too!

I decided the easiest way to do it was needle felting.

I laid out the letters in pink wool.

And pinned them in so I could see the placement well.

One by one I added thicker white wool to the top of each letter then thicker pink to the bottom. I blended them together so they looked like the watercolour that Kim did.

Here’s a closer view.

And after the finishing touches…

You can see the colours more clearly here when it’s a bit darker:

The verdict from Lottie was pretty clear!

So perfect for her!

I’m sure she doesn’t know the difference but I smile every time I look at it! Thank you Kim!!!

Needle Felting! Dog, Fox and Cute Brooch Tutorial

I’ve been needle felting again 😀

Here’s the little scottie dog I made and below it I’ll show you how I made a little bunny charm.

I really love felting when it’s incorporated into jewellery with other mediums.

Start with a ball of green, I mixed a couple of greens for the one I wanted.

I made it small enough to fit snugly into the little plastic base.

And hot glued it firmly.

Then it was just a matter of adding a design. I chose a bunny because… well they’re damn cute!

It took me a while to understand how to shape it well but now I want to try more felting embroidery like this.

Some little flowers around the bunny and that’s it! Now it just needs a brooch backing or something similar.

Of course the downside of this craft is that everything even remotely close to it looks furry like this.

So if you don’t separate the roving properly you’ll be breathing in fibre all night >_< Totally worth the time to be gentle for the best results because it’s such a cute craft!

How To Make You Own Needle Felt Lottie

When I get bored and have an excess of needle felting supplies, things like this happen…

To make you own needle felted Lottie you will need basic needle felting supplies and wool in creams, beiges, black and a little orangey red.

Make 3 sausagey legs and felt a crease to make the feet. These should be beige with extra cream on the foot part.

Make a body which looks like an egg. The chest area should be white and very proud looking while the back is beige. Attach the legs as well.

Add a white tail which is a ridiculous proportion to the body. It should be extra fluffy and highly decorative.

For the head use mostly beige with details in white. Lottie’s face looks like a fox so pointy snout, big eats and cheeks so fluffy they also seem highly decorative.

Attach the head to the body.

Lastly you need to add a face. A little brown nose is accurate but black is fine too. Don’t forget to put eyes on which absolutely beg you for the treats you’re holding.
