FOREO LUNA Cleansing Tool Review! Mini Life Overhaul

Aug 14, 2013 by

Over the last few months I’ve been trying to change my life a bit. Nothing crazy but James and I are trying to eat a bit more healthily, treating my skin better and work in actual routines rather than just going to bed when I’m too tired to work anymore. We are even trying to exercise a bit… that’s a bit much though so baby steps!

Anyway skin care is something that I want to learn more about. I tend to get frustrated at the possibilities of allergic reactions so I put it in the “too hard” basket and don’t put in the time and effort to research things thoroughly. It’s not a great attitude to have really so I decided enough was enough, time to take better care of myself!

A few weeks ago I was contacted by FOREO to test out their new product, the LUNA Skincare Device, so I jumped at the chance! A fancy face cleansing system has been on my “to buy” list for quite a while but I had never gotten around to researching and pricing them either. I seriously need to stop being so lazy and find time for all of this stuff.

Oh gosh, you’re miles ahead of me in the skincare routine stakes. Mr Slipper laughingly (but accurately) describes my “skincare routine” thus: “Wash with Clearasil in the shower. Splash with cold water in the morning. Moisturise whenever you remember.” I’ve got a bottle of toner on our sink that I bought with the best of intentions but as Mr Slippers points out, it doesn’t work if you don’t take the lid off and use it! My only step to improve my skincare routine is that now I keep day cream on my desk at work and use it when my computer is booting up… and that was only after my makeup artist for the wedding pointed out that my skincare routine was NOT a routine!

LOL! That sounds very similar to my skin routine before I added this in! I figure I’m going to take it in baby steps and see if I can be both lazy and have amazing skin XD

The only bad part to these cleansing tools (i have the Clarisonic brush personally) is that you get so used to having a super clean face that if you forget it at home when you’re on vacation or something your face will NEVER feel clean until you use it again.

I am currently working on a decent bed time routine, exercise and healthy eating ~ so I am right there with you Violet! In an attempt to be rid of any superfluous chemicals (including sugar! > O < Ohmy!) I have recently switched to an organic skin care brand – Sukin. It's available at Priceline (yay!) and is so amazing. I love the cleanser, and Rose Hip Oil is a fabulous toner! I don't know how it would go with your sensitive skin, but perhaps because it is free of nasties some of their products might work?

Best of all, their products are really reasonably priced ~ $10.00 for a bottle of cream or foam cleanser. ❤ Sorry about the long blurb, but I thought you might be interested. I really love their products, that's all. :D

I’ve got the Sukin range too! I love everything expect the moisturiser which for some reason makes me break out >_< Everything else in that range is amazing!

This looks amazing! I haven’t used anything like it as the brush models just don’t appeal and seem to do more harm tgan good to aging (gulp) skin. Putting this on the ‘must try’ list. :)

    Interesting.
Where was your Luna shipped from?

Mine was shipped from China which I was surprised at as they are apparently a European company.
