How To Do Temporary Hair Colour With Pastels

Feb 22, 2013 by

It’s been a really crazy week and between everything else I’ve been getting the next batch of these hair tutorials ready. Today’s tutorial is something that might help those of you thinking of dying your hair a crazy colour. I get quite a few comments and emails every saying “I want to do my hair like yours but I can’t because of school/work/something else”. Well this is a great way to see if it looks good before you commit or do it for the weekend and then wash it out before Monday!

The video version of this will be added as soon as I finish editing!

Let’s do it!

  2. Love this! I have been wanting to try this for a while and now I will!
I thought you should apply the pastel on wet hair? But so it can also be done to dry hair? Good! ^^

    • I tried this previous weekend! And when you have dark hair it’s better to get it wet and twist it before you start applying pastels as it doesn’t apply to dry dark hair :( (also be sure to wear something to protect your clothing and perhaps some gloves)

      • I’ve heard of the wet hair version too though I’d be careful of it because it can apparently be more damaging/staining *_* If the colours aren’t showing up as well you can try to do a layer of white first to make them really pop!

    • I prefer dry hair because I’ve heard people say that doing it wet can stain and damage the hair. Good luck!

  3. Super tutorial Violet! Looks pretty easy so I may have to try this one out!
