Quick Craft- Clay Rose Tutorial

Jan 29, 2012 by

Nice and simple craft today! I’ve been playing around with paperclay a lot and I’m even going to try to make my own paperclay sometime soon I think.

The thing that I always go back to when I can’t think of anything else to make with clay/sculpy/hard icing is basic roses.

So this is the way I make them ^_^

  1. Oh gosh I’m the same I’m constantly making roses in fact it’s kinda become like a little signature of mine, almost everything I make has to have a little clay rose on it (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Cateaclysmic) but they are very cute and fun to make xoxo

I make these, in a similar way, but with fondant for cakes :) And yeah I do it on autopilot in front of the tv. I my petals between a ziplock bag, that i’ve cut the edges off for easy opening. This way when I squish them they have a really smooth finish :)

    • Yes! I’ve made them for cakes too though the best part is eating them XD The idea of a zip lock bag is genius, you have the best tips!

  5. Ice cream, definitely! I always end up making ice cream, which is part of the reason there’s so much of it on my deco pieces, haha.

  6. Playing with paperclay, you will surely going to enjoy creating different artful designs out of it. This white rose that you had made out of paperclay really looks real in the picture.
