How to Make Perfect Ribbon Roses Craft Tutorial
These little ribbon roses are very cheap to buy in bulk but there are times when the colour you need isn’t available or you can’t find the right size, so i’ll show you how to make them yourself. It’s insanely easy to do as well!
Update! I’ve made a video of the process for those of you who need some help:

What you need:
- Ribbon
- Needle and thread
- … that’s it!

This is really cute. I am going to have to try this. It does look easy too. I might try doing it with fabric strips too
Good idea, making them out of floral fabric strips would be awesome!

Good luck Rosie!
Hi Violet,
These are super-cute, I’m definitely going to have a go at making some! :-D
(I love your blog BTW, been reading it for a while but never commented before! ^_^)
Ruby xx
Thank you so much for commenting Ruby, I’m really glad you’re enjoying what I post :D
I used to make them without sewing, I just fold a long ribbon in half, and leave the ends separated, and keep folding them on top of each other, like a criss cross, then when it’s all folded, just pull one end and the rose comes out, it’s kinda hard to explain in words but yeah no sewing… xoxo
XD That does sound a bit confusing hahaha! I would love to see the result though!
Thanks Violet!

Hi! I really love these, but could you clarify the “fold back” part of it?? I’ve been puzzling for twenty minutes and must be dumb or something because I just can’t understand it. :(
You’re not dumb at all, it’s a hard thing to explain! You fold the ribbon backward diagonally so the fold is the top of the “petal”. I think maybe I should make a short video so it would be easier to understand ^_^

Hey Violet! I found ur blog via YouTube via a Michelle Phan video :)
I love ur work! You have great style and so cute! That’s for this tutorial, I hand make my dresses and am always looking for ways to add little features to them. Last dress I made, I added a giant hand made bow to it (on my blog!)
On my next project I will definitely attempt to make this rose :)
Loving ur videos and blog!
