Whipped Cream Heart Earring Hanger Tutorial!

May 10, 2010 by

Morning everyone today I have an odd one, an earring hanger tutorial!

A lot of you have written saying you have lots of earrings but no way to store them all. I like to display my earrings because they’re pretty so this is what I’ve come up with ^_^

Heart Hanger Tutorial

Continuing my theme of sweets related storage solutions it’s a gigantic hanging heart made of whipped cream :D It can hold as many earrings as you want and it doesn’t matter what type of backs the earring have because they can all just poke through the tulle.

  1. Just gorgeous, your craft is always so adorable!

I’m definitely going to attempt this, although I’ve never used modelling paste before :P

My guess for the candy cane themed item is some kind of necklace storage :D xx

    • Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Modeling paste is really easy to use, it’s nice and thick so it holds the shape really well! Heehee you’ll just have to wait and see for the candy canes! :P

  2. sweet^^ the 3rd last pic looks like a wedding deco^^

  3. this is adorable!

  4. O.O
    That’s sooooooooo cute! <3
I almost regret not having enough earrings to use such a cute hanger! XD

  5. Kari

Wahh that’s amazing! Your creativity will never cease to amaze me ^o^ (and now I want to eat frosting…) Sadly, most of my earrings are studs, so I just toss them into boxes, but if I had a lot of danglies… :D

    • Hmmm yummy frosting! I used to keep my studs in a box too but I hate having to search to try and find them so now I use this :D

  6. Esz

Awesome idea :-D I definitely need to think of some kind of jewelry storage.

  7. So cute and so creative!
Where do these ideas come from!?
It looks so good! Plus it’s cheap to make!
I have a relative that has a lot of earrings.
I want to try to make this!
    Thank you!~

    • Thank you so much for your lovely comment ^_^ I love making cute things that don’t break the budget! If you make it let me know, I’d love to see :D

  8. Hahaha thank you! I’m not that good yet though haha! And modelling paste is only 8.95 at bargain plus? I am so there! I got mine in the city for about $12!

    • Seriously? You are awesome at sweets! I’m always jealous of how yummy your creations are :D Oh and yes Bargains Plus in Garden City= freaking awesome for cheap art/deco supplies! I’ve even found loose diamantes there! <3

  9. Jin

Oh this is a great idea. Definitely going to try this out!

  10. Violet ! this is awesome!

  11. u should complie a book of all ur DIYs :3
i love this ^^ i kinda need it too since i lose all my earrings XD

    • Yes I hate not being able to find one earring in the pair >_< Heehee I'm definitely considering a book ;)

  12. seriously, amazing ! ;O;
I agree with Naka, you should make ‘Violet’s little DIY-book’.
Atleast I would buy it 8D

    • Shhh don’t ruin the surprise ;P Something is definitely in the works though, just beginning stages! Thank you :D

  13. I really like this tutorial :D it’s such a cute idea ^-^ thanks for all your tutorials :D <3

  14. This is so very helpful, and the most adorable earring holder I’ve seen by far! I have so many wire hangers just “hanging” around (excuse the joke :D) and so many lost earring swimming in the mess I call my bathroom drawer. Quite helpful! 10/10!

    • XD Awesome joke! I have a huge number of the stupid hangers too, and yet you can never find one when you actually need it! Thank you for commenting!

  15. I have to say I love those cute skull earrings! I have a weakness for skulls and bows. ^_^

    • I love them too! They were a gift from James a long time ago from a rockabilly event. They are super heavy though because they’re solid metal so I can only wear them for a while >_< Love skulls and bows!

  16. just fab! i love this!

  17. Jasmine

I shouldn’t be surprised by how talented you are anymore, you always come up with the best things. I’m still not over the way you transformed that straw hat! :) You’re the best!

My guess is the candy cane will be for rings. I can’t wait to find out.

    • Your comment really made me smile :D Heehee I’m not going to spoil the candy cane surprise just yet, you’ll all just have to wait ;) And lots more tutorials to come I promise!

  18. Paulien

I love it! And It’s something you can easily adapt to your own style. Use some colouring, or some pink ribbons(for me white is too plain hehe), you get my point. I love the idea.

    • You’re exactly right, you can colour the paste with acrylic paint so you could make it pink or add lots of pretty bows :D Good luck with yours!

  19. This is adorable!! Makes me wish I wore earrings (I only have one hole in my lower lobe open :( ) so I had an excuse to make myself one!

Also, I know this isn’t exactly related, but I was just wondering- in your Youtube makeup tutorials you occasionally mention having make-up allergies and that you use Lash Me eyelash adhesive because it works with them. Are you allergic to Latex? Because I am and I’m having absolutely no luck finding a good latex-free adhesive! I tried to find the ingredients to Lash Me online, but no dice there either :( Please let me know!

    • Haha that sounds like the perfect excuse to by more earrings :D Oh yes allergies are super frustrating! In the beginning my doctors thought that I had a latex allergy but it turns out that I am allergic to parabens :( I checked out the Lash Me Type 1 ingredients and it DOES contain latex so it would not be suitable for you. I remember ages ago there were discussions about latex free lash glue with lots of recommendations on: http://www.ricoche.net/ So maybe check them out? I know that Lash Me also makes other lash glues with different combinations of ingredients so next time I see the other types in store I’ll check the ingredients for you :) It’s it’s the right type and you can’t find them online I can post to you, I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to find what you need! My email is violetlebeaux@gmail.com if you need any more info :)

  20. it looks even better in real life :D can’t wait to see photos from our day. we must fit in at least one more day before you go. I wish I could help edit our awesome video!

    • :D Thank you! Yes one more day would be awesome! I’ll message you on FB when I’m finished with all these comments, also our photos look freaking adorable :D

  21. looks cute!
I still wonder how the modeling paste to sticks to the iron wire.
I’m going to try this! thankyou!!

    • ^_^ The modeling paste is very sticky and because it is wet it bonds to the metal and the fabric. It also dries very hard so it’s rigid around the wire, good luck :D

  22. That’s great idea! ♥
I have a lot of earrings and now U give me idea!
    hihi :)

  23. Hi , you’ve inspired me with a lot of ideas .
