| The two pairs I received were:
White Lace Ruffle Anklet Socks
Pink Over the Knee Socks
Shipping-
The shipping was super fast, coming all the way to Australia only took a few days. I was actually surprised when the post came as I hadn’t been expecting it! The packaging was as expected, everything wrapped in tissue paper and tied with a cute bow.

Ruffle Socks
These socks are US$5, they are branded as Leg Avenue and are 100% Nylon. Available in pink, white, black and red.
The main lace used in them is a very soft and comfortable to wear while the top ruffle is made out of standard nylon lace and is not quite as soft. These ones are taller than most of the other ankle socks I’ve had over the years which makes them quite versatile. They are tall enough that they look cute with very tall heels but if you fold them down a little more they would be cute with sneakers too.
The one thing that I found a bit odd with these socks is that the seam is sewn under the foot and up the back. It’s not a big deal, but I think that after a long day of walking around it might be uncomfortable.
Verdict-
Lace quality aside I think these are a very cute way to top off an outfit ^_^

Over the knee socks:
These socks are on sale for US$8 and come in lots of other colours. These are quite interesting because they are billed as Eco Socks…
“Surprisingly soft over the knee eco socks by The Sock Boutique. These soft and comfortable regenerated socks are earth friendly and go above the knee to thigh high. The cuff has holds the socks up perfectly without leaving a dent in your skin. 85% Regenerated Cotton/Acrylic/Poly (*regenerated from preconsumer (unused) fabrics*) 10% Nylon 5% Elastic”
So recycled socks= good for the environment hurrah!
The colour of these is really vibrant and they came up to around mid-thigh length. After wearing them for walking all day they had migrated around 2 inches down which is pretty good. I also have quite small legs so they would probably fit others more snugly ^_^ I thought they were very comfortable for a full day’s walking. Quality-wise they are right for the price, they are not as high quality as say Innocent World but they sure don’t cost $25 either XD They are soft and comfy, warm enough to wear in the Australian winter and stay up nicely. The description was right too, they didn’t leave horrible bands on the tops of my legs at the end of the day either which I was very happy about!

A close up of the stitching in the toes.

Verdict-
Comfy socks that stay up well through the day and come in lots of cute colours ^_^ Do want!
Bonus outfit photo of what I was wearing that day :D

This post is also for everyone who has been asking me where they can get white stockings/tights like the ones I wear. It’s very hard to find here in Aus, especially if you want good quality opaque ones. I can’t attest to how opaque these are but the Sock Boutique also sells white opaques here for US$7.
Problem solved, hurray for The Sock Boutique! :D |
Hi Violet!
I found your website yesterday, and, omg, everything is so cute (i already read everything)! You look like a doll ♥.
This white socks is like ones i used when i was young! cute. I wish i could buy this kind of stuff here in Brazil, i usually somethings on ebay.
Your tutorials are great, and i see that you are a very creative person! ;)

Hey Ju! Thank you so much for your lovely comment :D Yes ebay can be great for finding pretty socks, I’m always worried that I’m going to get scammed though >_< Most of the time I prefer to buy from bigger stores for more protection. I bet Sock Boutique would ship to Brazil if you asked them about it :D Thank you so much again for commenting and reading my blog!
Those are some super cool socks! :)
Comfort is more important than style.
I completely agree, no matter what I wear I definitely want to be comfy, there’s no point looking awesome if you’re miserable inside!
Hooray for stockings! I think it’s worth spending money on your feet, especially if you don’t have a car. Comfort is the most important thing, but if it looks good too – all the better!
Oh yes I completely agree, feet are very important so it’s important to take care of them and buy the best quality you can afford. Looking cute is a definite plus too heehe ^_^
I’m not sure about shipping costs/delivery times for other countries, but for people in the U.S. looking for cute stockings I would highly recommend http://www.sockdreams.com! They have great variety & free shipping in the U.S.
By the way, I absolutely love your site! So many fun ideas!
Thanks for your comment and for reading Lydia :D I’ve heard of Sock Dreams too but I haven’t had any personal experience with them. I’m always so weary of international shipping costs, living in Australia can be very expensive for ordering things online *_*
Oh ..I’m not sure if the opaque is enough but I usually buy all my coloured tights (including white) from those small Korean sock shops that are in some shopping centres :) – in Melbourne
But yes, I really really like those lace socks! I think they give an extra cuteness to the outfit :D I feel like buying some now …but I need to save money >_<!
Ah yes we have those sock kiosk thingies here in Brissy too, though I’m yet to find one that sell white opaques that are *actually* opaque. Sometimes I think that I’ve actually imagined the pairs that I own and I’ll never find them again >_< Good luck with the savings, I'm on a tight budget too :(
I love the lace ones!! I saw some cute fake lace up ones on the site… maybe I’ll buy some :D
What’s the difference between tigh high socks and over the knee socks? or isn’t there a difference?
Oh I think I know the ones you mean on the site, they are super cute ^_^ I think maybe that over-the-knee socks are a few inches shorter than thigh high? I could be wrong though!
OMG. THE LACE SOCK STOCKINGS ARE SO LOVELY! Remember how we were talking how hard it is to find cute white stockings? I MIGHT GET SOME FOR MYSELF TOO!
Yes I totally remember that conversation! Yay for white stockings!!
I love the pink socks. They are very sweet and look wonderfully comfortable. I think the lace socks are cute, but am not surprised at the quality. The brand is marketed here as costume socks you only wear on rare occasions. I’ve never actually tried them so I might just be biased and they might surprise me as to their comfort level!
The pink socks really are cute. I do agree about the lace socks, over here Leg Avenue seems to only be sold in Adult stores as kinky dress up accessories and the quality is a bit hit and miss. I have a 2 other pairs of stockings from them, one which is fantastic quality and one that is terrible. I think the lace that the actual sock part of these ones is not bad but the top is a little scratchy, the only thing that I really don’t like is the seam >_< Still very cute for once in a while :D
those white lace socks are sooooooo cute!! i need a pair to wear with black roundtoe platform pumps
Oh that would be adorable :D
Have you ever bought anything from Tutuanna? It’s my favourite sock/hosiery shop in Tokyo :3 Actually, you might like these ^.^ http://www.tutuanna.jp/shop/c/c10/#/g/6408NN98
I haven’t heard of them but I’ll definitely check it out, thanks for the recommendation!
Aw, you must have small feet! When I read this a bit ago, I went to my sock go to place Sock Dreams (free shipping in the US~) and found them. Mine only go up like an inch…. Even the picture on the socks go up higher! They’re still cute, but I was hoping they would be up higher.
Aimiya recently blogged about..Birthday!
Oh no! That’s a pity :( I suppose it’s always best to get measurements to make sure with things like that!
