Skin MD Moisturiser Review
Today I hope you all enjoy this Skin MD moisturiser review!
So those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know how I’ve had some troubles with allergies. One of the things I’ve discovered is that I’m allergic to parabens which are a common ingredient in make up and skin products… when I say common I mean when I checked the labels of the products in my bathroom there were only like 2 that didn’t have them >_< I’m not going to debate whether parabens are good/bad I just happen to be allergic so I’ve been looking for alternatives.
One thing that I’ve been especially looking for is moisturiser. The back story to this is that as long as I can remember I’ve had insanely itchy legs, I mean like drive you crazy itchy, worse than the worse mosquito bite you’ve ever had! What didn’t click until I started looking at the labels in my bathroom was that I’ve also been using a moisturiser with parabens on my legs for like 10 years now… Mystery solved.
Aaaaanyway a few weeks ago I was sent some moisturiser from a company called “Skin MD”. When I received the package it had some pamphlets which were a little infomercial-y for my tastes so I took the claims with a grain of salt.
The general idea is that this isn’t so much a moisturiser but a “shielding lotion” that creates a barrier on your skin to keep natural moisture in and bad things out. I decided to give it a try for 2 weeks and see how I went… here is my morning routine/review!
I have *very* sensitive skin on my face so this was where I decided to test it out.

But I said: I really want to buy that moisturizer! Since my younger brother has really bad eczema and it’s heart breaking to see his cracked skin all the time.. :/ Do you think they’d sell it in the pharmacies/shops here in Aus?
Also, you could try transferring the moisturizer into another bottle :D ? That would probably help solve the clicky lid – which I really don’t like either haha.
And I really can’t believe you survived 10 years with itchy legs :/ Didn’t you try seeing the doctors about it :S ? I would never be able to stand it ..I can hardly stand mozzie bites haha.

Oh I so know what you mean about eczema being horrible, I was teased at school for having it on my face. People would make jokes about how it looked like I got in a bike accident :( Hmm I'm going to email the maker about selling it here in Aus because they don't seem to list it on their website. You can order it off the website from here but the postage is $10. I'll let you know when the company replies to me :)
Haha yep I already transferred it to one of my old bottles! I like the ones with a pump lid best, then you can multi task while doing hair hahaha! Ugh itchy legs were HORRIBLE, I did see doctors but they couldn't find a cause because I changed moisturisers so many times and nothing made it better!

It’s funny, I’ve always been a very itchy person, it never occurred to me that it could be eczema until my son started getting it as a baby.
I’ll give this stuff a go, too, and you already know about my fiance’s allergies and how I have to avoid parabens so I don’t harm him;)
Oh thank you! I really do think it makes a difference and it’s nice under make up too, not to heavy. Oh make sure you let me know how it goes for you, I’ll be really interested to know your results too ^_^

Hi! Is this lotion safe for acne prone skin?
My pores get clogged easily and I have lots of blackheads. :(

Aww thank you :) While the lotion is very light and moisturizing, I’m not sure if it’s suitable for acne prone skin, my suggestion would be to ask directly at the website or consult your doctor: http://www.skinmdnatural.com/ I hope you find the answer you need ^_^
ive been looking for a new moisturizer, i might try this! PS you could always buy one of those little pump bottles from a dollar store and fill it /w the moisturizer so you wouldn’t have to use the little clicky top container :) I decorate mine /w diamantes haha
That’s exactly what I’ve done ^_^ I use a whole lot of cute matching pump bottles for my bathroom must-haves. I’m glad my review helped ^_^
