Hi Anne! I'm not sure if I understand the question... Do you mean if you use a slide comb at the back using the techniques I've shown you here? Yes that would be visible unless you cover it with a bow or some other hair accessory. I don't recommend slide combs for this style because when using the method shown here (pulling the hair back over the pouf in 3 sections) if you used 3 combs you would end up with a sizable lump at the back too from the bulk of the combs. I think with these techniques it is much easier to use and disguise bobby pins. Hope that helps and if you have any more questions just let me know :)

Umm in SKM's 'How to Use Bumpits - Create a Basic Updo.' video, she used a slide comb for the back. Will it be visible if I use it and leave my hair down?

You mean to cover the bandana? You could try it without but the inside colour might show through your hair. I would experiment with it before you try it for a big event like prom just in case :) Good luck!

I'm so glad my tutorials are helping you :D Ok to fold a bandana in that shape you fold it into a triangle, roll the triangle into a tube then roll the tube the other way into a square tube... You can really use anything in place of a bandana, it just needs to be that rough shape. I've seen people use all kinds of things, even shower loofahs XD You can skip the hair extensions as long as you use something the same colour as your hair ^_^ Hope that helps and do send me some photos if you try it!

One: love the tutorial and all your others. May I say that I've made like - 8 massive bows because of your tutorials!?

Two: how do you fold the bandana to get it in that shape?

Three; any way to do this without a bandna and hair extensions? I just don't have any at the moment and I want to do this for my birthday! Like is there something else that will hold the shape just as well? If not I feel comfortable using the old teasing method - at least til I get the hang of this one! <3
